MEET THE DOCTOR

“Every patient deserves the best care possible in an environment where their thoughts needs and are listened to and respected.”

Pearl Christie, M.D. joined Kelsey-Seybold in May 2010. She is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and cares for her patients at our Katy Clinic.

After completing undergraduate studies at the University of the Virgin Islands in St. Thomas in 1997, Dr. Christie earned her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine in 2001. She completed her education in 2004 with a residency in Family Practice at Jacksonville Naval Hospital in Florida.

Dr. Christie came to Kelsey-Seybold from Barksdale Air Force Base in Shreveport, Louisiana where she practiced as a civilian primary care physician for a military general practice clinic.

From 2006-2008, she worked at a Naval Station Mayport in Mayport, Fla. where she was responsible for the diagnosis, care and treatment of patients and provided low-risk obstetrical care. During her time there, Dr. Christie was deployed to Fallujah, Iraq for 6 months where she provided urgent and emergent care for wounded sailors and marines during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Prior to her time at Naval Station Mayport, Dr. Christie supervised a team of 10 staff members at the Naval Hospital in Yokusuka, Japan that developed a centralized database, allowing them to monitor diabetic patients, and provide feedback and comparison of their data with national averages. While at the naval station, she served as a physician preceptor for the Japanese internship program and was recognized with the Navy Commendation Medal in 2006.
